How the company started

CRSLight was born when its founders discovered a solution to a perplexing problem of their own.

Jim Kraft had been experiencing difficulty with his eyes during his professional graphic design work—which demands the ability to judge true color, to control color and to do very close, detailed work that can be quite hard on the eyes. He decided to find a solution.

Meanwhile, Tammy Kraft, trained in family and child development, knew that teachers and children—and adult students—often suffered eyestrain in classrooms with lights that are often harsh or inadequate. She wondered what effect that might be having on learning outcomes.

They did a search and found that full-spectrum light was thought to improve eyestrain and other negative effects of poor lighting. They didn’t hesitate to purchase and install it. Immediately after installing it in their home and office, they noticed a dramatic improvement.

"The lights and other vision enhancement products seem to increase my speed and productivity—and my eyes definitely feel more comfortable,” says Jim. “Now I can put in well over a full day when I need to.”

Wanting to share what they were benefiting from themselves, Tammy and Jim researched the issue further with optometrists, endocrinologists, and ophthalmologists. When they learned that these eyesight professionals often recommend full-spectrum light and other products such as glare filters to help control the light environment, they realized they wanted to help others get these benefits, too.

They established CRSLight and now offer others the benefits of full-spectrum light and other CRS solutions. Click here for client testimonials.
